The purpose of this Community Covenant is to encourage support for the Armed Forces Community working and residing in Devon and to recognise and remember the sacrifices made by members of this Armed Forces Community, particularly those who have given the most. This includes in-Service and ex-Service personnel their families and widow(er)s in Devon.
The Armed Forces Community Covenant complements the principles of the Armed Forces Covenant which defines the enduring, general principles that should govern the relationship between the Nation, the Government and the Armed Forces community.
AN ADDED HONOUR.
Too, it was an even greater honour to have been given the opportunity to personally sign this covenant in the name of Operation Braveheart.
I was also able to speak to those gathered there at County Hall about Daniel and our Sons and Daughters of Great Britain within our forces and to explain about Operation Braveheart and the role it will play within our community covenant.
My commitment and resolve to honour and respect our forces in the memory of my Grandson Daniel is strong and solid as ever and will remain so, for as long as my health and the good Lord above shall keep it so.
I ask with great respect for the help and support of the community of Cullompton and surrounding local communities to please offer your support to and for Operation Braveheart as I look to the way in which we can, as a joint community work together in the future for the good of our servicemen and women of all our forces both past and present. Please join and take part in any fundraising event that will be planned to help get that support to where it is needed , and it can even be offers of direct help to ensure that the aims of Operation Braveheart and this new community covenant can continue into the future.
